Winter care tips for skin, lips and feet | Home tips and Remedy |

Everyone loves winter for sipping hot beverages, lazy and cozy mornings. This is the time when you just love to snug in your cozy blanket and have some hot tea or coffee but it also has some drawbacks especially when it comes to your skin. Due to cold winds your skin becomes dry, itchy, flacky and the wrost case when you get cracks in your feet and chapped lips which are painful too.  Cold weather, dry and chilly winds can cause havoc on your skin, you need to take extra care for your skin, lips and feet to keep them retain their natural moisture and give natural glow in winter.

In winter your skin loses natual moisture due to dry and chilly weather and loses it's natural softness and elasticity, it becomes rough and dry. You must moisturise your skin regularly atleast 3-4 times a day or in regular intervals if the weather is too chilly and dry to protect your skin from the damaging effect of cold and dry winds because after some time the moisture from your skin is lost leaving it dry, itchy and more prone to cracks especially if not treated or taken care in time. So not only your skin but your lips and feet also need some special care in winter to keep them soft and glowing.

TIPS FOR WINTER CARE OF YOUR SKIN

  • The most important rule is do not forget to moisturise your skin at night because this is the best time when your body is at rest and all the moisturiser get absorbed in the skin giving it soft, glowing look in the morning.

  • Do not have too hot showers as hot water tend to make your skin more dry and makes your skin lose its natural moisture fast. Have luke warm water for bathing.

  • After bathing, do not forget to moisturise your skin. Use good moisturiser for your whole body.

  • When you go out, cover yourself properly with sweaters, jackets, gloves and scarfs to protect your skin from chilly, dry winds and pollution.

FEET CARE IN WINTER

This is the part of your body which is most ignored in winter which can leads to cracked and dry feet. Cracked feets are painful and also prone to infection. So like we care for our body in winter, our feet also requires some care especially in winter to keep them soft and protect them from getting cracked and infected.

  • Always wear socks to protect your feet from drying and getting cracked.

  • Apply a good moisturiser on your feet also and then wear socks to protect it in winter.

  • If you have a cracked heel, apply a herbal crack cream and then wear socks over it.

  • For quick heal of the cracked feet, it is best to apply crack cream at night on the feet and then wear a socks over it and go to sleep as night time help in faster healing. Do this daily untill your cracked heel is healed completely.

  • Keep your feet in warm water for some time. This will make your feet relaxed and also soaks dead skin on your feet which can be easily removed by scrubbing. Scrub your feet with a feet scrubber to get rid of the dead skin. Apply a good moisturiser cream on your feet to keep them soft and glowing. Do it atleast once in a week to keep your feet soft and crack free.

HAND CARE IN WINTER

We frequently wash our hands during daytime after various activities to keep them clean and also to follow a good hygiene. But in winters due to frequent washing, the moisture from our hands is lost quickly which results in dry and flaky skin and sometimes can crack also if not taken care. So our hands also need some special care in winter to keep them soft and glowing.

  • During too cold and dry weather condition,  whenever you wash your hands, apply a moisturiser on your hands after washing as frequent washing rips off moisture from your skin quickly.

  • Always carry a small bottle of moisturiser in your handbag during winters and apply it on your hands whenever you wash them.

  • If you have too dry hands, keep them in warm water for some time during night, wipe them with a soft towel and apply a Boroplus or Boroline anticeptic cream on your hands before going to sleep. Your hands will be healed and will become soft quickly.

LIP CARE IN WINTER

Lips are important feature in your face and help in defining your face and its looks. Lips are more prone to become dry and chapped if not taken care as they are always exposed to cold weater and dry winds. So taking care of your lips becomes very essential in winter to keep them soft and protect them from drying, so that you always keep smiling happily in winter.

  • Always apply a lip balm on your lips in winter to keep it soft,  moisturised and to protect it from getting chapped due to cold weather.

  •  If you wearing lipstick, use lipstick with high moisture content or apply lip balm first and then apply lipstick over it to keep your lips moist and soft.
